Electroplating, hot-dip galvanizing and mechanical plating are the most widely used methods for the appearance of rivet nuts, which are introduced below.
1. Electroplating of rivet nuts
Electroplating of rivet nuts refers to immersing the parts of rivet nuts to be plated into a specific aqueous solution, which will contain some accumulated metal compounds, so that after passing through the aqueous solution with current, the metal substances in the solution will be separated and attached to the immersed part of rivet nuts. Electroplating of rivet nuts generally includes zinc plating, copper plating, nickel plating, chromium plating and copper nickel plating.
2. Hot-dip galvanizing of rivet nuts
The hot-dip galvanizing of rivet nuts is to immerse the rivet nuts made of carbon steel into the molten zinc plating bath with a heat of about 510 ℃, so that the iron-zinc alloy on the surface of the rivet nuts will be converted into passive zinc, and then the surface treatment effect will be obtained.
3. Mechanical plating of rivet nuts
Mechanical plating of rivet nuts means that the surface of rivet nuts is impacted by the powder of coated metal through specific physical and chemical methods. In this way, the coated metal forms a coating on the surface of rivet nuts through cold welding to achieve surface treatment. Mechanical plating of rivet nuts is mainly applicable to spare parts such as screws, nuts and gaskets.
